THANKS FOR AN AWESOME WEEKEND!

Thank you to everyone involved in making Whitwell Music Festival a massive success once again in 2016:
all the bands, volunteers, sponsors, sound and stage crew, photographers, caterers, security, bar staff, stallholders, workshop providers and everyone who attended from far and wide.

The PORCH LIZARDS won the charity band draw, so £500 is on its way to Weston Park Hospital, Sheffield, courtesy of them.

If you would like your local group or charity to benefit from some of this year's profits, please send us an email telling us how you would spend it.

Band applications for the 2017 festival will open in January.

About the festival...

Described by the Derbyshire Times as 'Derbyshire's best kept secret', Whitwell Festival of Music is a community event in a village setting, now in its 8th year, getting bigger and better every time. Run by a small team of volunteers - Whitwell 4Ward - the festival has raised thousands of pounds for local causes. Featuring a wealth of musical and artistic talent across all genres - over 25 bands and artists over the weekend - the festival also offers a range of locally brewed real ales, ciders, value-for-money food, arts and music workshops and children's activities.
Camping is available on two sites within the village, but alternatively, for a more luxurious experience, there is plenty of B&B accommodation within a 5 mile radius of the festival ranging from Travelodge and Ibis, to Best Western and other 4-star hotels nearby.
