About the festival...

Described by the Derbyshire Times as 'Derbyshire's best kept secret', Whitwell Festival of Music is a community event in a village setting, now in its 9th year, getting bigger and better every time. Run by a small team of volunteers - Whitwell 4Ward - the festival has raised thousands of pounds for local causes. Featuring a wealth of musical and artistic talent across all genres - over 25 bands and artists over the weekend - the festival also offers a range of locally brewed real ales, ciders, value-for-money food, arts and music workshops and children's activities.
Camping is available on two sites within the village, but alternatively, for a more luxurious experience, there is plenty of B&B accommodation within a 5 mile radius of the festival ranging from Travelodge and Ibis, to Best Western and other 4-star hotels nearby.

As we are a festival that supports all sorts of charities, we are getting right behind WILL WHISSON, singer/songwriter performing at the festival on Friday night. He will be cycling from Sheppey, Kent, all the way to the Farne Islands, Northumbria (450 miles in total) and stopping off at Whitwell on the way to play his gig. He's doing this to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Please check out more about his fundraising venture and donate if you can....
